Yangon Arrival (L/D)

Welcome at airport by our MEBS tour guide. Transfer to hotel. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, visit the National Museum (except on Monday), Botahtaung Pagoda and its wharves. A short stroll in an Old Yangon quarter to explore Colonial Buildings. To enormous reclining Buddha image of Chaukhtatkyi, after the Old Yangon quarters. The world famous Shwedagon Pagoda and its vicinity in the evening. Dinner at the famous Karaweik Palace Restaurant with cultural show. Overnight in Yangon.

 

Yangon-Bagan

Transfer to airport for flight to Bagan, which is one of  World’s outstanding archeological wonders. Transfer to hotel in Bagan. Before-lunch sightseeing includes: the Tharabha Gate; the Ananda Temple, the most prominent of the temples and pagodas of Bagan; The Ananda Okkyaung; Thatbyinnyu Temple, the highest and one of the premier pagodas of Bagan, [210 feet]Lacquerware Museum and Training School; Bupaya which is on the bank of the Ayeyawaddy river. Lunch at local restaurant.

After-lunch sightseeing includes: Nyaung Oo Market; U Pali Thein with its brightly painted mural frescoes from the late 17th century or early 18th century; Htilominlo Temple, where fragments of the original fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations and beautiful carved reliefs on the doorways can be admired; Shwezigon Pagoda, which is famous as big and the most beautiful zedi in Bagan pagodas; Kyansittka Umin with original frescoes. Dinner at local restaurant.

 

Bagan-Magwe

Early morning coach-ride to Magwe. Check in at the hotel. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, Magwe sightseeing includes Myathalun Pagoda and other interesting sites in the vicinity. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Magwe.

 

Magwe-Minbu

Regional Myanmar breakfast and then to Minbu [across the Ayeyarwaddy River] by boat to visit the Shwesettaw Pagoda where there is a foot-imprint of Buddha. Lunch at local restaurant. After sightseeing, return to Magwe by boat. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Magwe.

 

Magwe-Pyay

Early morning coach-ride to Pyay. Stop-off at Taungdwingyi for breakfast. To the citadel of Beikthano [Vishnu], a fascinating archeological site. Check-in at hotel in Pyay. Lunch at local restaurant. After-lunch visit includes: Pyay Market; Shwe­sandaw Pagoda and other interesting sites in the vicinity. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Pyay.

 

Pyay-Yangon

Early morning departure by coach to Yangon.Stop-off at Thayekhittaya, an ancient Pyu city ;Thayekhittaya Museum. Check-in at hotel in Yangon. Lunch at local restaurant. After-lunch visit includes: Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral and Bogyoke Aung San Shopping Centre. Evening at leisure. Night-outing to Chinatown. Dinner at Chinatown. Overnight in Yangon.

 

Yangon-Departure

Myanmar breakfast with steamed glutinous rice [kauk hnyin paung]. Visit the Gem Museum, Bogyoke Aung San Museum, A Meditation Centre. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, transfer to airport for departure.
